What do you like best about the idea of renting a Vacation Home Rental instead of a Hotel?

I’ve been researching Vacation Rentals and alot of people i’ve talked to Really like the Idea. Whats everybody elses thoughts?
Whats the deciding factor in your decision to rent a vacation home instead of a hotel.

We use a timeshare place, with two bedrooms, and a full kitchen. I love to cook, and we travel with another couple. We all have privacy, and there is a great living area for TV when we are too exhausted to go out. Always get a place with lots to do in the area, like Orlando, Daytona Beach, or a place in the mountains. Hotels are too boring, and there isn’t room to spread out.
